Who Kill Teoh Beng Hock??

SHAH ALAM: There is an 80% chance that the death of political aide Teoh Beng Hock was caused by homicide, the coroner’s court was told Wednesday.

Based on her examination of the autopsy reports and pictures of the site, Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand said she believed there is only a 20% chance that Teoh had committed suicide.

Testifying at the inquest into Teoh’s death, Dr Pornthip said that not all injuries on the body were consistent with a fall from a height.

She said that marks around his neck could mean that he was strangled, while the injury to his anus was caused by penetration with an object before his fall.

His skull fracture was not typical of an injury from a fall but was more compatible with blunt force being applied directly to the skull, she said.

She said that Teoh was probably alive when he hit the ground but may have been unconscious before the fall.

Dr Pornthip told court she has conducted more than 10,000 autopsies, of which about 100 dealt with fatal falls from a high place.

She put the time of death at between 6am and 8am, July 16.

The renowned and flamboyant Dr Pornthip is the director and co-founder of the Thai Justice Ministry’s Central Institute of Forensic Science.

She is well-known for her prowess in cracking open complicated homicide cases and is a celebrity of sorts in her homeland.

She is the author of Investigation of Corpses which sold 100,000 copies in Thailand, and also led a group of international forensic scientists in 2004 to identify the remains of the Asian tsunami victims.

Her life and work was narrated in a National Geographic documentary entitled Crime Scene Bangkok in 2004.

KUALA LUMPUR: Beginning next year, Sept 16, which is Malaysia Day has been declared a public holiday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the day would involve activities that would foster the 1Malaysia spirit.

He added this meant Malaysians would have a twin celebration, to commemorate the country’s independence starting next year

Najib said National Day on Aug 31 would be celebrated with formal events such as a parade to commemorate the historical moment and it would remind the people about the struggle in achieving independence from the colonists.

He made the announcement during the question-and-answer session at Parliament on Monday.

Najib said Sabah and Sarawak, which joined Malaysia in 1963 and the formation of Malaysia as an independent country was a very important moment in history.

“We want the joy and sorrows of the people in Sabah and Sarawak to be felt by the people in the Peninsula,” he said.

“Therefore, I would like to announce to the people of Malaysia that the Cabinet has recently made the decision to celebrate Hari Malaysia on Sept 16 starting 2010.”

Malaysia Day would be celebrated with events that would foster closer unity, understanding between the different races and community success and achievement through sports, social culture and arts, to spur the 1Malaysia spirit, he added.

Malaysia will have to fundamentally rework its economy to become more productive and R&D based if it is serious about making the quantum leap to become a high income economy and move out of the income bracket currently occupied by countries such as Gabon and Botswana. The nation, one of the wealthiest in Asia at the time of independence in 1957, has now fallen behind Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore and is now trying to play catch up.

The World Bank classifies a high income country as having a gross national income (GNI) per capita of US$11,456 or more. According to the latest figures available from the World Bank, in 2007, Malaysia had a GNI per capita of US$6,420, far behind high income societies such as Singapore (US$32,340), South Korea (US$19,730), Japan (US$37,790), Hong Kong (US$31,560), Australia (US$35,760), Finland (US$44,300), and Switzerland (US$60,820) and Norway (US$77,370).

Malaysia falls into the World Bank’s upper middle income bracket defined as GNI per capita of between US$3,706 and US$11,455. Other countries with similar GNI per capita include Gabon (US$7,020), Russia (US$7,530), Romania (US$6,390) and Botswana (US$6,120).

Industry officials warn, however, that without addressing key issues such as productivity and subsidy mentalities, Malaysia will not be able to transform itself into a sustainable high income society. Many Malaysian companies have become dependent on a relatively weak currency, cheap foreign labour and subsidies for electricity and water instead of striving to become more efficient and developing high quality and high value good and services.

Malaysia’s lack of R&D and investment in downstream activities means that it has wasted the opportunity to leverage its natural resources into a high income base unlike other resource rich countries like New Zealand, Norway, Canada or Australia.

While favoured by many low end manufacturers, a weak currency also makes imported goods more expensive, including capital goods such as sophisticated equipment required for high-end manufacturing and R&D.

A weak currency also means imported inflation, thus making Malaysians feel poorer as they cannot afford to buy the same goods and services of their counterparts in, say, Singapore or Australia.

It also makes it difficult for Malaysian companies to expand abroad as the cost of setting up overseas operations become prohibitive since one ringgit is worth little abroad.

On a dollar-to-ringgit basis, Malaysians do not appear too badly off. According to one senior executive with an international accounting firm, Malaysian accounting fresh graduates earn about RM2,500 per month as compared to about US$3,000 for their peers in the United States.

However, when factoring in the ability to purchase imported goods or to travel abroad, the value of the income shrinks dramatically due to the unfavourable exchange rate.

Q: How do I protect myself and my family?

A: For now, take commonsense precautions. Cover your coughs and sneezes, with a tissue that you throw away or by sneezing into your elbow rather than your hand. Wash hands frequently; if soap and water aren't available, hand gels can substitute. Stay home if you're sick and keep children home from school if they are.

Q: How easy is it to catch this virus?

A: Scientists don't yet know if it takes fairly close or prolonged contact with someone who's sick, or if it's more easily spread. But in general, flu viruses spread through uncovered coughs and sneezes or — and this is important — by touching your mouth or nose with unwashed hands. Flu viruses can live on surfaces for several hours, like a doorknob just touched by someone who sneezed into his hand.

Q: In Mexico, officials are handing out face masks. Do I need one?

A: The CDC says there's not good evidence that masks really help outside of health care settings. It's safer just to avoid close contact with someone who's sick and avoid crowded gatherings in places where swine flu is known to be spreading. But if you can't do that, CDC guidelines say it's OK to consider a mask — just don't let it substitute for good precautions.

Q: Is swine flu treatable?

A: Yes, with the flu drugs Tamiflu or Relenza, but not with two older flu medications.

Q: Is there enough?

A: Yes. The federal government has stockpiled enough of the drugs to treat 50 million people, and many states have additional stocks. As a precaution, the CDC has shipped a quarter of that supply to the states to keep on hand just in case the virus starts spreading more than it has so far.

Q: Should I take Tamiflu as a precaution if I'm not sick yet?

A: No. "What are you going to do with it, use it when you get a sniffle?" asks Dr. Marc Siegel of New York University Langone Medical Center and author of "Bird Flu: Everything you Need To Know About The Next Pandemic." Overusing antiviral drugs can help germs become resistant to them.

Q: How big is my risk?

A: For most people, very low. Outside of Mexico, so far clusters of illnesses seem related to Mexican travel. New York City's cluster, for instance, consists of students and family members at one school where some students came back ill from spring break in Mexico.

Q: Why are people dying in Mexico and not here?

A: That's a mystery. First, understand that no one really knows just how many people in Mexico are dying of this flu strain, or how many have it. Only a fraction of the suspected deaths have been tested and confirmed as swine flu, and some initially suspected cases were caused by something else.

Q: Should I cancel my planned trip to Mexico?

A: The U.S. did issue a travel advisory Monday discouraging nonessential travel there.

Q: What else is the U.S., or anyone else, doing to try to stop this virus?

A: The U.S. is beginning limited screening of travelers from Mexico, so that the obviously sick can be sent for treatment. Other governments have issued their own travel warnings and restrictions. Mexico is taking the biggest steps, closings that limit most crowded gatherings. In the U.S., communities with clusters of illness also may limit contact — New York closed the affected school for a few days, for example — so stay tuned to hear if your area eventually is affected.

Q: What are the symptoms?

A: They're similar to regular human flu — a fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people also have diarrhea and vomiting.

Q: How do I know if I should see a doctor? Maybe my symptoms are from something else — like pollen?

A: Health authorities say if you live in places where swine flu cases have been confirmed, or you recently traveled to Mexico, and you have flulike symptoms, ask your doctor if you need treatment or to be tested. Allergies won't cause a fever. And run-of-the-mill stomach bugs won't be accompanied by respiratory symptoms, notes Dr. Wayne Reynolds of Newport News, Va., spokesman for the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Q: Is there a vaccine to prevent this new infection?

A: No. And CDC's initial testing suggests that last winter's flu shot didn't offer any cross-protection.

Q: How long would it take to produce a vaccine?

A: A few months. The CDC has created what's called "seed stock" of the new virus that manufacturers would need to start production. But the government hasn't yet decided if the outbreak is bad enough to order that.

Q: What is swine flu?

A: Pigs spread their own strains of influenza and every so often people catch one, usually after contact with the animals. This new strain is a mix of pig viruses with some human and bird viruses. Unlike more typical swine flu, it is spreading person-to-person. A 1976 outbreak of another unusual swine flu at Fort Dix, N.J., prompted a problematic mass vaccination campaign, but that time the flu fizzled out.

Q: So is it safe to eat pork?

A: Yes. Swine influenza viruses don't spread through food.

Q: And whatever happened to bird flu? Wasn't that supposed to be the next pandemic?

A: Specialists have long warned that the issue is a never-before-seen strain that people have little if any natural immunity to, regardless of whether it seems to originate from a bird or a pig. Bird flu hasn't gone away; scientists are tracking it, too.

Swine Flu: 5 Things You Need to Know About the Outbreak

Right now health officials around the world are trying to take precautions without inciting panic. Here are just a few of the questions facing them - and ultimately, us as well:

1. Is this a flu pandemic?

The influenza virus is constantly mutating. That's why we can't get full immunity to the flu, the way we can to diseases like chicken pox, because there are multiple strains of the flu virus and they change from year to year. However, even though the virus makes us sick, our immune systems can usually muster enough of a response so that the flu is rarely fatal for healthy people.

But every once in awhile, the virus shifts its genetic structure so much that our immune systems offer no protection whatsoever. (This usually happens when a flu virus found in animals - like the avian flu still circulating in Asia - swaps genes with other viruses in a process called reassortment, and jumps to human beings.) A flu pandemic occurs when a new flu virus emerges for which humans have little or no immunity and then spreads easily from person to person around the world. In the 20th century we had two mild flu pandemics, in 1968 and 1957, and the severe "Spanish flu" pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 40 to 50 million people worldwide.

The WHO has the responsibility of declaring when a new flu pandemic is underway, and to simplify the process, the U.N. body has established six pandemic phases. Thanks to H5N1 avian flu, which has killed 257 people since 2003 but doesn't spread very well from one human to another, we're currently at phase 3. If the WHO upgraded that status to phase 4, which is marked by a new virus that begins to pass easily enough from person to person that we can detect community-sized outbreaks, such a move would effectively mean that we've got a pandemic on our hands.

The H1N1 swine flu virus has already been identified as a new virus, with genes from human and avian flus as well as the swine variety. And since it is apparently causing large-scale outbreaks in Mexico, along with separate confirmed cases in the U.S. and Canada and suspected cases in other countries, it would seem that we've already met the criteria for phase 4. But though an emergency committee met on April 25 to evaluate the situation, the WHO hasn't made the pandemic declaration yet. Keiji Fukuda, the WHO's interim assistant director-general for health, security and environment, said on Sunday that its experts "would like a little bit more information and a little bit more time to consider this." The committee is set to meet again by April 28 at the latest.

As health officials have repeatedly emphasized, with good reason, the swine flu situation is evolving rapidly, and more lab tests are needed to ascertain exactly what is going on in Mexico and elsewhere. "We want to make sure we're on solid ground," said Fukuda, a highly respected former CDC official and flu expert.

2. What will happen if this outbreak gets classified as a pandemic?

Moving the world to pandemic phase 4 would be the signal for serious containment actions to be taken on the national and international level. Given that these actions would have major implications for the global economy, not to mention the effects of the public fear that would ensue, there is concern that the WHO may be considering politics along with science. "What the WHO did makes no sense," says Osterholm. "In a potential pandemic, you need to have the WHO be beyond question, and (April 25) was not a good day for them."

Of course, declaring a pandemic isn't a decision that should be taken lightly. For the WHO, phase 4 might trigger an attempt to keep the virus from spreading by instituting strict quarantines and blanketing infected areas with antivirals. But we appear to have missed the opportunity to contain the disease at its source since the virus is already crossing borders with ease. "We cannot stop this at the border," said Anne Schuchat, the CDC's interim director for science and public health. "We don't think that we can quench this in Mexico if it's in many communities now."

That would leave the WHO and individual countries to fall back on damage control, using antivirals and old-fashioned infection control - like closing schools, limiting public gatherings and even restricting travel - to slow the spread of the virus. But such efforts would likely inflict serious damage on an already faltering global economy - and the truth is, we don't know how well those methods will work.

3. Why have the U.S. cases been so much milder than the ones in Mexico?

This is the question that has health officials from Geneva to Washington puzzled. In Mexico, swine flu has caused severe respiratory disease in a number of patients - and even more worryingly, has killed the sort of young and healthy people who can normally shrug off the flu. (Fueling such concerns is the fact that similar age groups died in unusually high numbers during the 1918 pandemic.) Yet the cases in the U.S. have all been mild and likely wouldn't have even garnered much attention if doctors hadn't begun actively looking for swine flu in recent days. "What we're seeing in this country so far is not anywhere near the severity of what we're hearing about in Mexico," said the CDC's Besser. "We need to understand that."

Some of the difference may be due to the fact that Mexico has apparently been grappling with swine flu for weeks longer than the U.S. As doctors across the U.S. begin checking patients with respiratory symptoms for swine flu, CDC officials expect to see more severe cases in the U.S. as well - and as better epidemiological work is done in Mexico, we'll probably hear about more mild cases there too. Right now, however, the true severity of the H1N1 swine flu virus is still an open question, whose answer could change over time. The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic began with a fairly mild wave of infections in the spring, but the virus returned a few months later in a far more virulent form. That could happen with the current swine flu as well. "It's quite possible for this virus to evolve," said Fukuda. "When viruses evolve, clearly they can become more dangerous to people."

4. How ready is the U.S. - and the world - to respond to a flu pandemic?

In some ways, the world is better prepared for a flu pandemic today than it has ever been. Thanks to concerns over H5N1 avian flu, the WHO, the U.S. and countries around the world have stockpiled millions of doses of antivirals that can help fight swine flu as well as other strains of influenza. The U.S. has a detailed pandemic preparation plan that was drafted under former President George W. Bush. Many other countries have similar plans. SARS and bird flu have given international health officials useful practice runs for dealing with a real pandemic. We can identify new viruses faster than ever before, and we have life-saving technologies - like artificial respirators and antivirals - that weren't available back in 1918. "I believe that the world is much, much better prepared than we have ever been for dealing with this kind of situation," said Fukuda.

At the same time, the very nature of globalization puts us at greater risk. International air travel means that infections can spread very quickly. And while the WHO can prepare a new swine flu vaccine strain in fairly short order, we still use a laborious, decades-old process to manufacture vaccines, meaning it would take months before the pharmaceutical industry could produce its full capacity of doses - and even then, there wouldn't be enough for everyone on the planet. The U.S. could be particularly vulnerable; only one plant, in Stillwater, Penn., makes flu vaccine in America. In a pandemic, that could produce some ugly political debates. "Do you really think the E.U. is going to release pandemic vaccine to the U.S. when its own people need it?" asks Osterholm.

Indeed, the greatest risk from a pandemic might not turn out to be from the swine flu virus itself - especially if it ends up being relatively mild - but what Osterholm calls "collateral damage" if governments respond to the emergency by instituting border controls and disrupting world trade. Not only would the global recession worsen - a 2008 World Bank report estimated that a severe pandemic could reduce the world's GDP by 4.8% - but we depend on international trade now for countless necessities, from generic medicines to surgical gloves. The just-in-time production systems embraced by companies like Wal-Mart - where inventories are kept as low as possible to cut waste and boost profit - mean that we don't have stockpiles of most things. Supply chains for food, medicines and even the coal that generates half our electricity are easily disruptable, with potentially catastrophic results. Though we'll likely hear calls to close the border with Mexico, Osterholm points out that a key component used in artificial respirators comes from Mexico. "We are more vulnerable to a pandemic now than at any other time over the past 100 years," he says. "We can't depend on ourselves."

5. So how scared should we be?

That depends on whom you ask. Officials at the CDC and the WHO have emphasized that while the swine flu situation is serious, they're responding with an abundance of precautions. Even Osterholm, who has been highly critical of the U.S. government's long-term failures to better prepare for a pandemic, gives the CDC a 9 out of 10 for its response so far. Outside of Mexico, the swine flu hasn't looked too serious yet - unlike during the SARS outbreaks of 2003, when an entirely new virus with no obvious treatment took the world by surprise. In the U.S., the normal flu season is winding down, which should make it easier for public-health officials to pick out swine flu cases from run-of-the-mill respiratory disease. And there are simple things that people can do to protect themselves, like practicing better hygiene (wash hands frequently and cover mouth and nose when sneezing) and staying away from public places or traveling if they feel sick. "There's a role for everyone to play when an outbreak is ongoing," said Besser.

But the truth is that every outbreak is unpredictable, and there's a lot we don't know yet about the new swine flu. There hasn't been a flu pandemic for more than a generation, and there hasn't been a truly virulent pandemic since long before the arrival of mass air transit. We're in terra incognito here. Panic would be counterproductive - especially if it results in knee-jerk reactions like closing international borders, which would only complicate the public-health response. But neither should we downplay our very real vulnerabilities. As Napolitano put it: "This will be a marathon, not a sprint." Be prepared.

两个以上人玩，五个骰子每人。

每人各摇一次，然后自己看自己盒内的点数，由庄家开始，吆喝自己骰盒里有多少的点数（一般都叫成2个3，2个6，3个2什么的）然后对方猜信不信，对方信的话就下家重来，不对的话就开盒验证，是以合计其他骰盒的数目为准。要是属实的话就庄家赢，猜者输要罚酒，不属实的话就猜者赢庄家输则罚酒。　　

注意：
A. 叫数只能越叫越大（如： 2个6，3个2，喊了2个6后就不能再喊2个3之类的）　　
B. 1点可以作为任何数，例如骰盒内只有3个2点，1个1点，庄家其实自己就可当作有4个2点；可是要是庄家叫过1点的话，那1点以后就不可以当任何数了（如： 2个1，4个1之类的）。　　
C. 另外还有围骰，如庄家骰盒里全部都是4点，那庄家可以允许加上一个虚拟的4点，即被认为是6个4点。

緣起

百多年以來，中华由小学而中学，从港仔乾到爱莲园，从简陋木板校舍到巍峨宏伟的学府，此种种功绩皆乃历届董事会、建委会、孔教会、校友会、家教协会及华社先贤们群策群力共同努力奋斗的成果。先贤们高瞻远瞩、不折不挠、坚毅兴学的精神，让中华成为现今槟州颇具规模的华校。

十年树木，百年树人，兴学育才，乃长远大计，非一朝一夕所能见其功效。办学兴教除需良师外，亦须完善舒适的学习环境，俾让学子得以在良好的环境下，用心学习，日后为国为民服务，让华裔文化薪火不灭，源远流长。

Component One of the Wireless@PENANG project is Penang Free WiFi, running on IEEE 802.11, that targets the community at large, including the lesser served areas and lower income group.

The initial spread of service coverage areas:

The initiative is 100% private sector-driven, with nearly no cost put in by the state government.
Equal opportunity: There are no rights to exclusivity in order to promote healthy competition.
All qualified and recognised industry players with good track records are welcome to participate as partners in the Wireless@PENANG project.

Next Thursday, Penang will preview of Component Two: WiMAX@PENANG, the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access platform that runs on IEEE 802.16.

The first Wireless@PENANG will start at Queensbay Mall and the service should be available within the next four weeks.

This will be followed by the areas located in Macalister Road, Burma Road, Gurney Plaza and Gurney Drive, Bukit Jambul Complex, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Butterworth and then Tanjung Bungah.

The connection speed offered is at an average of 10 Mbps, depending on the specification of the notebooks, the speed can vary.

SAPP Pulls Out of BN

Press statement by SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee after the SAPP Supreme Council Meeting at Party HQ, Kota Kinabalu on September 17, 2008 (4:30 pm)

1. The BN has lost its "BN spirit". It was not that the people who did not want the BN, it was the BN who abandoned the people. In spite of repeated appeals from some BN members to other BN leaders to be more sensitive to the peoples' feelings, these leaders continue to treat the people with contempt. Perhaps, after 50 years of uninterrupted government, some BN leaders have got it in their heads that they have a divine right to rule.

2. On March 8, the people had spoken out loud and clear. The BN paid a heavy price. But yet the BN refuses to learn. The ruthless increase in fuel prices on June 4 and the failure to tackle inflation and economic slowdown have dealt a severe blow to ordinary people. The recent blatant abuse of the ISA against an innocent journalist, an MP and a blogger only confirms that the BN leadership has not learned from their mistakes. The shameful Taiwan trip by 49 BN MPs and the instigation of racial animosities have aggravated the collapse of confidence among the people and leaders, not only on the PM but the BN as well. The PM's budget 2009 was totally uninspiring and has already been discredited even before it was debated in Parliament. The BN has lost its moral authority to rule. Numerical majority in Parliament means little if the people no longer respect you.

3. Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim's resignation only confirms what many lawyers already knew that is that the Prime Minister and his government has never had the intention to reform the judiciary. Datuk Zaid's exposure about "the BN government being paralysed by internal strife and divisions" has also been known to many people in the BN. In many other countries, such paralysis of government will lead to fresh general elections.

4. The PM himself appeared drifting, not knowing what has been happening around him. SAPP has nothing personal against the PM and family. None of the matters raised by SAPP concerns his person, his family, son, daughter, son-in-law or businesses. SAPP is only concerned about the issues affecting the country such as the need for good governance, the dangers of racial polarization and injustice of economic imbalances to be tackled effectively.

5. SAPP hereby proudly dissociates ourselves from these shameful wrong doings of the BN government. SAPP further believes that the BN is not capable of practicing good governance and non-racial politics; that BN has no intention in granting autonomy to Sabah, returning 20% of oil royalties and Labuan to Sabah, implement Borneonisation, review unfair federal laws and departments in Sabah, solve the illegal immigrants problems and remove social and economic imbalances. The BN leadership even refused to recognize historical facts by denying September 16 as Malaysia Day, 45 years.

6. SAPP had only wanted to see that the legitimate rights of Sabah and the unfairness suffered by Malaysians in Sabah be given due attention with results. The BN must realize that, if not for Sabah and Sarawak, BN would be in the opposition today. But instead of sincerely working to solve the issues raised by SAPP, the BN has chosen to embark on a course of action to destroy SAPP. The SAPP Supreme Council hereby condemns the attempts of BN operatives to destroy SAPP through divide and rule tactics and by abusing the economic resources of the BN State and Federal Governments aimed at instigating SAPP members and leaders to destroy SAPP.

7. As a matter of fact, by deliberately excluding SAPP from four consecutive meetings of the Dewan Tertinggi and two meetings of the Management Committee ever since the announcement of no confidence on the Prime Minister on June 18, the BN has effectively terminated the membership of SAPP. The SAPP Supreme Council hereby declares that SAPP is no longer a member of the Barisan Nasional coalition of parties.

8. SAPP is now free from the BN. SAPP shall henceforth use this freedom to pursue our autonomous political path to fulfill our mission to establish a trustworthy government and a progressive, just and harmonious society. We are no longer subservient to BN. We now have the master key to our own house. We shall build a brighter future for our people and the younger generations to come.

9. SAPP members who hold political appointments in the executive branch of Government shall relinquish their posts by giving the due notice under the constitution and relevant rules and regulations, starting at the Cabinet level.

10. With our experienced MPs, ADUNs and other party colleagues, SAPP shall provide quality opposition in and outside the Parliament and State Legislative Assembly until the time comes when SAPP is ready to be back in government.

11. I call on our members to be brave. Do not despair. Remember that one of our party culture seven values is Resilience. From the day we join the party, we knew that things can get very rough for us. Yes, together we shall overcome this difficult period because the people are with us. With the strong encouragement and support of the people, SAPP will succeed in our struggle.

12. In view of the current fasting month of Ramadhan, SAPP shall only embark on a series of political activities two weeks after Hari Raya. We shall plan a road map to victory in future elections. We shall elaborate how we plan to achieve the eight-points declaration, namely:

(i) Good governance and non-racial politics,
(ii) Autonomy for Sabah,
(iii) 20% oil royalties,

As the statement given out by Datuk Ahmad Ismail, all Chinese is "penumpang", our PM, Pak Lah, said he didn't mean it. Then who really meant it??

Is it all Malaysian Chinese want to "cari pasal" (looking of trouble)? If anyone in Malaysia can release this type of racial comment... can the Chinese and Indians mention about the special status of Bumiputera in Malaysia? The answer is you can't and the ISA (Internal Security Acts) will wait for you! What made Pak Lah think that he don't meant it?

UMNO is a party who like to use all the racial sentiment to seek support from the people.... It's not the 1st time they use all kind of racial sentiment to attack the Chinese community and what happen next? Although the BN's party member like MCA and Gerakan will make some noise in the early stage but will gradually became quiet... and all the radicals UMNO member like Datuk Ahmad Shah will escape from any punishment! That Malaysia under the arrogant government leads by UMNO!

We don’t want apologize, we want action from government! Please punish him! Budget 2009

At last, Budget 2009 is out, do you satisfy with the budget?

1. Enhancing Health Services
- Excise duty specific on cigarettes increased by three sen from 15 sen per stick to 18 sen per stick. With this, the duty for a 20-stick pack of cigarettes is now increased by 60 sen.

2. Eradicating Poverty
- RM580mil and RM420mil allocated for Sabah and Sarawak respectively to increase income and enhance quality of life of Malaysians there by improving basic amenities, such as electricity, water and rural roads.
- Households which incur monthly electricity bills of RM20 or less, will not have to pay for electricity, for the period from 1 October 2008 to end of 2009.
- The current tax rebate of RM350 per person be increased to RM400 for those with taxable income of RM35,000 and below.
- All interest income from savings for individuals be tax exempt.
- Full import duty exemption on several food items, which currently attract import duties of between 2% and 20%. These include vermicelli, biscuits, fruit juices and canned sweet corn

3. Enhancing The Welfare Of Employees
- Mobile phones, as well as telephone and internet bills paid by the employer.

4. Improving Public Transportation
- The existing LRT system in the Klang Valley will be extended by 30km, that is 15km respectively, for Kelana Jaya and Ampang lines. Upon completion in 2011, the extensions are expected to benefit 2.6 million residents in the Subang Jaya-USJ and Kinrara-Puchong areas, compared with 1.9 million currently.
- A new LRT line will be built along a 42km route from Kota Damansara to Cheras; to be completed in 2014.

5. Improving Public Amenities
- Allocation of RM3bil to intensify efforts to further develop Sabah and Sarawak for infrastructure projects, including 266 km of federal and rural roads, benefiting more than 550,000 residents.
- An allocation of RM3.3bil is provided for Sarawak to implement various projects, including the construction of 230 km of federal and rural roads, benefiting more than 350,000 residents.

6. Second Strategy: Developing Quality Human Capital
- To meet the need for new schools and replace dilapidated schools, 110 primary and 181 secondary schools will be built. In addition, to ensure that existing schools are well maintained, an allocation of RM615mil is provided.
- The highest marginal tax rate for individuals be reduced from 28% to 27%, effective the year of assessment 2009. In addition, the marginal tax rate of 13% will also be reduced to 12%, which will benefit the middle income group.

7. Promoting Tourism
- RM50mil for conservation works of heritage sites in Malacca and Penang to support activities undertaken by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private sector.

8. Promoting Venture Capital Companies
- Venture capital companies that invest at least 30% of their funds in start-up, early stage financing or seed capital be eligible for a 5-year tax exemption.

9. National Energy Plan
- Exemption of import duty and sales tax on solar photovoltaic system equipment, import duty and sales tax on intermediate goods such as High Efficiency Motors and insulation materials; sales tax on locally manufactured solar heating system equipment; sales tax on locally manufactured energy efficient consumers goods such as refrigerators, air-conditioners, lightings, fans and televisions; and 100% import duty and 50% excise duty on new hybrid CBU cars, with engine capacity below 2,000 cc, be given to franchise importers. This exemption is given for a period of two years to prepare for the local assembly of such cars.

10. Ensuring Public Safety
- RM5.4bil is allocated in the 2009 Budget to enhance the capacity of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM). Of this, RM4.8bil is for Operating Expenditure and RM600mil for Development Expenditure.
- RM220mil is allocated in 2009 for the construction of police headquarters and stations nationwide.
- For the period 2008 to 2010, a total of 22,800 constables and 3,000 inspectors will be recruited. In addition, the special incentive allowance for PDRM personnel will be increased from RM100 to RM200 monthly, effective Jan 1 2009.

11. Civil Service
- A bonus of one-month salary, subject to a minimum of RM1,000 for 2008. The bonus will be paid in two instalments, namely in September and December 2008.

Are he trying to challenge the Constitution? Why the UMNO ppl always think Malaysia are belong to UMNO only and not share among the Malaysian, like Chinese, Indian, etc? It's hurt the heart of all Chinese. Is it all the IC card given to all Malaysian under the constitution are fake? knn... UMNO are arrogant!! I'm hoping UMNO will no longer in power some day in future... coz they will know the "rakyat" power!! f**king idiot...

What make the situation worst... the police are trying to stop the residents from demolished the concrete block by spraying the water cannon and tear gas... which they failed to use during Penang Street Demonstration on March... Are the police working for the ppl or only for certain party only?

KDN had banned the publication of the Tamil post Makkal Osai.... some of the reports show that the banned is caused by the Makkal Osai which published a front page report on the gathering lead by PKR advisor Anwar Ibrahim on last Monday.

... and more newspaper will be banned soon... One of them is Oriental Daily News (東方日報), which their publication license had expired on 1st Dec 2007... and till now they publish their daily with the old license... Oriental Daily News are well known as the newspaper which was frequently criticized for publishing racially inflammatory articles, particularly on issues concerning the alleged conspiracy instigated by the government to systematically discriminate and suppress the non Malay minorities.

The action by the government had shown that they wish to control all media and only publish the news which is harmless to the government or pro-government... they have no right from deny us to receive any kind of news, that’s our basic right!! Are the government want to follow the foot step of communist country like North Korea or Myanmar?

Non of the Malaysian want these to happen... maybe in one day... only one newspaper will be publish in Malaysia... which will be "BN Daily"... and it will send to your door step... free of charge... You will very thankful to the BN lead government.

MU is leading with 5 points.... thanks to Wigan which drew with Chelsea this morning.... MU with the 5 points cushion... they just need 2 wins, a draw and a lost to be champion!! Which mean the Red Devils need only 7 points more... The point will come from a win against Wigan (3 points), a win and a draw either West Ham or Blackburn (4 points)... and the game against Chelsea will be meaningless... But from the form shown by the Devils... they surely will win or at least draw with Chelsea...

The trophy already in view... just how many points that MU will gain in the end of the championship...

Time to Change!!

Its time to pay... my old car need spare parts replacement again.... time to change timing belt and regulator's water pump! It cost me another RM560 for the parts and normal servicing.

The total milleage of my car had acceded 160,000km within the past 7 years... but istill wish that my car will last me for another 3 years... Money is a big factor now!!

I wonder is it worth to use our car for business travel? The maintenance cost is high... although some of the cost can be claimed back, but still insufficient... we have to absorb the cost for the good of our company... Hopefully my company will remember my car's contribution.

My dear car... please dont sick for the next 3 years.... Tolong la...

The war between Dr M and Pak Lah is on... is it the crack inside UMNO wider? From the eye of Dr M, Pak Lah is the one to blame as the cause of BN lost it 2/3 majority.... and Pak Lah blame that Dr M is trying to wreck Umno...

No matter what happen, the show will go on and on until December, where UMNO election will be held... we will know who will success in their propaganda.

Ok, why they like to "fly aeroplane"?

The reason is:

1) Can't firm with decision.
2) Too many promises given in one time.
3) Forgetful?
4) Too busy.
5) Have a don't care attitude.
6) Have a lot of accomapany (maybe)

Perak DAP received a slap on their face when 1 of their newly-elected Buntong state assemblyperson A Sivasubramaniam has quit the party over the lack of Indian Malaysians in Perak's state cabinet. Is there any conspiracy of buying over??... or maybe a step by DAP to pleased the Indian community in Perak?? Only Uncle Lim will know about it ^^

The situation is critical now in Perak, where the state government will change hand again... coz the coalition party of DAP-PKR-PAS will have 30 state assemblyperson vs 28 from BN. The gap is narrower and anything can happen in Perak!!

Guan Eng can be 1st time be a CM of Penang... can Najib be 1st time to challenge Pak Lah and become 1st his life to be PM on this December?

As many had predicted he wont challenge Pak Lah and will be a good Deputy for time being... coz Najib is not Anwar and Abdullah is not Mahathir.

The different between both of them is.... Anwar start his politic career from grass-root and gain support from his politic movement, academic, commitment and bravery.

But... Najib did it the other way round. His support is formed by politic itself and by the legasy of his father.

Anwar is built through revolution and Najib is built by the short-cut of evolution.

Thunderstorm In Terengganu!!

Terenggnu will force to held a state assembly election... just after 14 days of the 12th GE.

The newly appointed MB of Terengganu, Datuk Ahmad Said, have 90 days to regain the support from the DUN b4 he may dissolve the state assembly... and the situation became worst from bad after Datuk Ahmad Said was dismissed as the member of UMNO.

Now, Teregganu facing 4 possible situations:

1.) The Sultan of Terengganu dismiss the appointment of Datuk Ahmad Said as MB, or

2.) Datuk Ahmad Said step down as MB, or

3.) Sultan of Terengganu dissolve the state assembly, or

4.) Datuk Ahmad Said dissolve the state assembly after 90 days.

Which of the above will be ur favourite ending of the story?

No matter what the ending is, it will be the 1st that were happened in Malaysia history... Seems like the Sultan is challenging the UMNO...

What will be the outcome??... let's wait and see...

7 days after winning Penang state government, DAP prepared a thanksgiving dinner for all the volunteers and supporters at Koay Association, Macalister Road, Penang (just opposite Gerakan main branch)… Since I’m the volunteer who served as polling and counting agent at Air Putih, I was invited.

Most of the YB of DAP who won their state and parliament seat in whole Malaysia attended the dinner…

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the issue of abolishing the New Economic Policy (NEP) raised by the opposition parties should not have come up as the policy ended in 1991.

Since then, the government has set up the National Economic Consultative Council (MAPEN) to be responsible for planning the development of the country's economy.

"Through MAPEN, many policies had been agreed upon for implementation by the government and among the policies were two policies taken from the NEP, with one being the overall eradication of poverty irrespective of race, and the second dealt with distribution," he said at a press conference after chairing the Umno Supreme Council and Barisan Nasional Supreme Council meeting here today.

Abdullah was replying to questions on plans by the opposition parties, which won several state governments in the recent election, to abolish the NEP.

He said the government would continue to holistically carry out its poverty eradication programmes considering that hard core poverty still existed.

"We have continued to implement the programmes until today as poverty still exist including hardcore poverty even if the percentage has been reduced significantly from the past.

"And this has been one of our successes because we had persisted. We did not assume that there was nothing to be done just because the NEP was over," he said.

On the policy of distribution (of wealth), he said the government has been distributing fairly in line with the economic progress made.

By distributing fairly, the government has not taken to robbing any one section in order to give it to another section, he said.

"That is why we are carrying on with our development, working so that our economy would continue to expand and grow," he said.

I was there again... Penang Street Demonstration

Yes... I was there again, to witness the headline… This was my 1st time in Penang to experience the demonstration by the Malays youth which lead by the UMNO after BN lost the 12th GE, the demo was lead by Penang Umno secretary Azhar Ibrahim… All the road nearby Komtar had been closed… all shops in Prangin Mall also closed, massive traffic jam around Penang and Penang bridge, road block all over Georgetown… But the situation there never frighten me… coz it’s an under-controlled demonstration.

Why they demo so publicly? Do they have any permit from police? Why the FRU didn’t use the water canon or tear gas to chase the protestors away? May be there are some conspiracy behind all this!!

We Penangite love peace!! Rumuors said they are all imported from other state and disturb the stability of Penang… Please respect the result of the 12th GE!! To all “foreigner” don’t disturb Penang anymore!! Our Penang government needs time to settle down and improve our state.

From my observation, the crowd gathered there were around 500, much much less than the Ceramah held by the DAP… and my advice to all friends… Malays, Chinese and Indians…. Don’t respond to the act of these youth. As Pak Lah (anyway Pak Lah is the president of UMNO) said b4 that’s not the culture of Malaysian… they are trying to provoke the emotion of all races… stay away from them!! Let the police handle it….

So, please!! Don’t demonstrate in Penang!! Demonstrate it in Pak Lah’s home town … If Malays had been sidelined, it’s the fault of the system implemented by the federal government and it’s nothing to do with the newly born Penang government!!

Respect the Law and Election result of Malaysia!! We need peace!!

p/s: very curious... if the police read the Star, then they will know who the organizer is... why the police didn't arrest anyone? They don't dare? Is the ISA still implemented? What the UMNO leader did are very irresponsible and will provoke racist crisis... I hope the police will take action ASAP.

Some 500 Umno members and supporters staged a brief protest outside the Penang state government office in Komtar this afternoon.

The crowd - which gathered there after Friday prayers around 2.30pm - chanted slogans such as 'Don’t sideline the Malays' and 'Do not abolish the NEP'.Upon being instructed by the police, the crowd dispersed some 15 minutes later. No untoward incidents were reported.

The protest, led by Penang Umno secretary Azhar Ibrahim, to protest Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's declaration that the new DAP-led state government would do away with the New Economic Policy (NEP) policies.

Earlier today, Inspector-General of Police Musa Hassan had warned that the gathering in Komtar would be declared illegal and arrests would be made against the protestors.

However, no arrests were made this afternoon.
